Aerial survey
topographical, boundaries or GPS survey
We use the latest geomatic technology including; reflectorless theodolites, robotic instruments, survey quality GPS and one-man total stations providing our clients and consultants with accurate and economical survey solutions for all aspects of land surveying.
We can produce data in any format, inc: Autocad, for all measured land survey types; 3D digital terrain models, DTM, volume or area calculations, sections and setting-out schedules.
Our land survey services are provided throughout the UK and Europe. Assisting with topographical, engineering, boundaries or GPS surveys.
Topographical Surveys
We are specialists in providing topographical survey data and hydrographic survey data using the latest instruments and software to ensure a fast and cost effective field to finish solution. This data can be supplied in various formats such as AutoCAD, PDS, MOSS and Microstation.
We are experienced in supporting our clients with the full range of topographic surveys, geomatic surveys and hydrographic surveys throughout the UK and Europe.

Boundary Surveys
As qualified and experienced land surveyors we are constantly involved in every element of property boundaries and demarcations; whether it is positioning undefined boundaries or assisting in resolving boundary disputes between neighbouring owners. We are often instructed to act as an expert witness in boundary disputes and asked to provide the court with detailed boundary survey reports, evidence and statements to resolve ownership disagreements.
In addition to the conventional role of the land surveyors we also provide a file plan comparison service to compare existing site features, documented legal plans and site surveys to then liaise with HM Land Registry in order to resolve problems early in order to prevent boundary disputes occurring.

- Demarcation of properties
- Land parcel surveys
GPS Control
Survey Solutions are fully equipped with the latest survey quality GPS instruments and post processing software and can carry out all aspect of GPS surveying. We can collect precise static base-station observations to provide fully adjusted co-ordinated solutions for large scale mapping and major projects as well as undertaking real-time detailed surveys or setting-out using a local grid system or utilising the Ordnance Survey (OS) GPS Active Network.- OS GPS Active Network

Drone or UAV Surveys
Drone surveys, (also known as UAV surveys) have become an increasingly popular method of carrying out surveying projects. One of the major advantages of drone surveys is the versatility it offers your project. Suitable across a range of our services, drones are equally effective for both land and building surveys and offer an excellent option for inaccessible areas.
Another major benefit of a drone survey is the speed in which large areas can be surveyed. Capturing data can be quicker, safer and less intrusive than other means or in many cases, drones can be used as a complementary add-on service alongside more traditional surveying methods.
Data from drone surveys is available in both 2D and 3D formats with a range of additional options available. This could include point cloud data, ortho-rectified photography and fly over video footage, all ensuring you receive a high level of technical detail to support your project. Our drone team is fully compliant with the Civil Aviation Authority regulations for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems.
Drone surveys are ideal when working on projects such as quarries and landfill, traffic surveys, agricultural inspections, large scale mapping, and thermal imaging, as well as schemes where access may be restricted such as heritage projects and roof inspections.
Drones Overview
- Can capture data more quickly and more effectively than traditional methods
- Ideal solution for large land spaces and for inaccessible areas
- Suitable for a range of projects and schemes for both land and measured building surveys
- High level of technical data available including point clouds and flyovers
- Equally effective as a stand-alone survey or a complementary service
- Data available in a wide range of formats
- A safe and cost-efficient method minimising the amount of survey time on site
Monitoring Surveys
We undertake monitoring surveys to identify movement or deformation in any environment using precise digital levels, movement detectors, precision survey instruments and high accuracy reflectorless total stations. We can map small changes in vertical movement, level and horizontal movement or full 3D XYZ coordinate differences in either real-time or over long periods to demonstrate changes and trends. With a track record of designing, specifying, installing and completing job specific monitoring campaigns designed to accurately measure and record movement in a large variety of structures and buildings we are able to confidently advise and liaise with Clients and their Architects or Engineers to achieve the best monitoring system to meet their requirements.
From the settlement of buildings or the deformation of major civil structures to the movement of natural features and earthworks we can provide a detailed understanding of the dynamics and movement to the highest order of accuracy.
Monitoring projects have included; major bridges and structures, sea defence, soil embankment stability, historic buildings, steelwork, retaining walls and ground settlement at landfill site.

3D Laser Scanning
3D Laser Scanners or ScanStation are used for a wide range of High Definition Surveying HDS applications either alongside traditional survey instruments or as an alternative to Total Stations.Using 3D Laser Scanning instruments the surveyor can rapidly collect a large amount of accurate co-ordinated three dimensional 3D laser points from the surface of remote feature as a ‘point cloud’ image, providing rapid surveying solutions for inaccessible elements and complex geometrical detail.
When the 3D Scanner has scanned a structure or site to create a precise high definition survey image it is then processed with visualisation and modelling software to represent the surface surveyed. The data from the scanned image can then be used for a wide variety of applications including exporting to CAD in 2D or 3D models in wire frame or to other rendering software packages.
This type of surveying technology allows the surveyor to capture and use large volumes of 3D data in a range of environments and is well suited to measuring heritage sites, historic buildings and façades along with applications in detailed petrochemical and industrial environments. 3D Laser Scanners can also be used for surveying projects such as highways, tunnelling projects or hazardous sites where traditional survey instruments may not be appropriate.
